 Artist Information

Some ten years after graduating from Gray's school of Art, I had to fill in a form stating my profession. "Artist"... I wrote.

My seven year old daughter quickly put me in my place, "your not an artist, mummy, you never paint". Well she was right. Working in an art shop, cutting mounts for other peoples art, renovating first a flat and then a run down cottage (with my husband), having two lively children, didn't leave much time for the art. And I had got out of the way of setting aside time, even for drawing.

So out came the paints, on a very small scale, so the kitchen table could  be clear again in time for tea.

Here's where it started.

For a while it was hard to always find inspiration. But I have realised over time that what is needed is to choose a theme or start working on a new technique, the ideas start to come later.

In 2010 my husband built me a studio, so the work has scaled up and I have had plenty of space to

spread out in.
